Philadelphia
Area Association of Healthcare Recruiters Scholarship Program
The Program
PAAHCR has established a scholarship program to help finance
healthcare related education for relatives and/or friends of
PAAHCR members. Awards are given without regard to race, color,
creed, religion, sex, disability, sexual orientation or national
origin.
Eligibility
Applicants can be a child, spouse, significant other, friend
or family member of a current PAAHCR member in good standing.
Applicants must be enrolled in the 1st or 2nd year of an eligible
undergraduate program or enrolled in an eligible accredited
technical program. An eligible program is defined as one related
to indirect or direct patient care ( e.g. nursing, therapies,
lab technician, etc.)
Scholarship Awards
Awards are $1000 each and may be used for the first or second of undergraduate study. Two PAAHCR scholarships will be awarded each year.
Application
Students must complete this hard copy application or the online application. You must also mail a complete high school or college transcript (if within last ten years), proof of acceptance into a healthcare program and a letter of recommendation from the sponsoring PAAHCR member by November 1, 2009.
Applicants are solely responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information. All information submitted is confidential and will be reviewed only by the PAAHCR scholarship selection committee.
Recipient Selection Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic achievement, leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work and life experience, statement of educational and career goals and recommendation by the PAAHCR member.
Scholarships will be based on the PAAHCR selection procedures
and available funds. Not all applicants will receive rewards.
All applicants will be noticed of their status in late December
of 2009.
Payment of Reward
Scholarship payments are authorized and processed by PAAHCR.
Payment will be made after January 1. Checks are mailed to
the receipts home address and are made payable jointly to the
student and the school and must be endorsed by both.
Obligations
Scholarship recipients must enroll in their educational programs
no later than fall of the year in which their awards are given.
Recipients have no obligations to PAAHCR. They are, however,
required to provide PAAHCR with current transcripts and to
notify PAAHCR of any changes of address, school enrollment
or other pertinent information.
Revisions Policy
The general conditions and procedures under which scholarships
are made are subject to periodic review by PAAHCR, including
termination of the program.
