The Penn State Hershey Medical Center is an academic medical center located 12 miles east of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The Hershey campus houses the Penn State College of Medicine and the Penn State Hershey Medical Center, a 484-bed tertiary care hospital with a Level I trauma center and 129-bed Penn State Children’s Hospital. Responsible for the overall planning, operation and evaluation of our Nurse Recruitment program. Penn State Hershey Medical Center has a staff of over 1,900 Registered Nurses. Each year, we hire over 500 experienced nurses, advanced practice nurses, graduate nurses and nurse externs.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising our nurse recruitment/retention team.
  • Developing programs to attract high-quality nursing candidates and overseeing recruitment/retention workflows.
  • Managing applicant-tracking system processes from initial position request through employee orientation.
  • Ensuring that recruitment processes and records management are in compliance with EEO guidelines and policies.

Our requirements include a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, 3 years of nursing management experience, and PA RN licensure or eligibility.

Senior Recruitment Specialist (Nursing)

A highly successful not-for-profit health system in eastern Pennsylvania is expanding its recruitment team to include a Senior Recruitment Specialist.

The Senior Recruitment Specialist will partner with hiring managers and designated HR Consultants to develop workforce plan & strategies to reduce short-term turnover and days-to-fill. The Senior Recruitment Specialist will source, screen, coordinate assessments, conduct interviews and make job offers to fill current or expected job vacancies in the RN or nursing related job categories.

Candidates must have a minimum of five years of nurse recruitment and/or other clinical recruitment experience with emphasis on nurse recruitment. A RN clinical background is strongly preferred. Experience with web based or E-recruiting applications & strategies required. BA or BS in business administration, Human Resources or related field required. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required as is the ability to work within a large customer base.

The University Relations Specialist is responsible for developing new and expanding existing programs with regional universities to attract potential interns to educational non-clinical programs across the Geisinger Health System.

This includes internships, externships and cooperative educational opportunities, joint degree programs, adjunct appointments, foreign visitor program, graduate student research, teaching and mentoring opportunities.

Responsibilities include development of policies and procedures, tracking systems, evaluation tools and criteria, and information materials; the coordination of recruitment and on-site training/education, and strategies to expand programs and recruit applicants. Additional core responsibilities include identifying mechanisms to fund programs, including possible grant opportunities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of three-five years project management or administrative experience required.
  • Experience with developing relationships with Campus Career Services departments, academic faculty, and university administration strongly preferred.
  • Minimum educational requirements include a Bachelors and Post Bachelor's degree at the Masters level or higher.
  • Experience in student programs, higher education and/or training and development, preferred.
